Pâte de verre sake cup
Pâte de verre sake cup
Pâte de verre is said to be the oldest glass technique in the world.
Each unique sake vessel is made through a process that begins with making a mold, followed by firing the glass and polishing it. The colors that appear when the glass is melted and the clear bubbles that form give it a sparkling look, giving anyone who holds it a unique and unmistakable warmth.
This sake cup was made using the pâte de verre technique, which allows you to enjoy the beautiful nuances created by layering colors.
Perfect for those who want to enjoy alcohol with both their eyes and tongue. Also makes a great gift.
The artist majored in sculpture at universities in Japan and London, studying casting techniques, modeling, and stone carving. He also studied under Professor Toda of Tokushima Glass Studio, and focused on developing his own unique techniques that applied sculpture techniques, pursuing transparent handmade glass.
Each glass piece is carefully crafted, taking more time and steps than with conventional techniques, and is sure to bring joy and enrichment to your daily life.
